Dressed for success and ready for opportunity
Last month, several IEA participants from Castle’s Maitland office attended a ‘Get the Job’ workshop and group styling session at Dress for Success in Broadmeadow, building confidence and practical skills to support their employment journey.

The three-hour workshop focused on interview preparation, first impressions and workplace presentation, helping participants feel more confident and prepared for future opportunities.
“The transformation experience gave our group a real boost in confidence and enthusiasm for life”
- Castle participant Lee.
“It helped us redefine our image and put our best foot forward in the workplace, leaving us all feeling empowered and refreshed.”
Throughout the session, participants practised interview questions and techniques, learned how to present themselves professionally, and explored the importance of body language, communication, punctuality and grooming in the workplace.
Participants also received guidance on interview attire, including what to wear — and what not to wear - across different work environments.
“I appreciated the opportunity to practice interview questions and learn about the importance of first impressions,” said participant Rylee.
The workshop included hands-on activities, group discussions and personalised support, creating a welcoming and encouraging environment for everyone involved.
Castle participants took part in a styling session.
“I particularly liked how we were treated by the ladies at Dress for Success,” said participant Bev.
“They were incredibly knowledgeable and got just as much out of it as we did.”
As part of the experience, participants also took part in a styling session and were able to try on and take home professional outfits ready for upcoming interviews and employment opportunities.

Castle Employment Success Officer Gabie said the experience was incredibly positive for the group.
“Everyone had a wonderful time. The women from Dress for Success were absolutely incredible and it was fantastic to see the services they offer in action,” she said.
“Everyone was so supportive and uplifting towards each other.”
Lee, who currently works casually as a special education teacher and is seeking a more permanent role, said the experience made a lasting impact.
“My overall experience at Dress for Success was exceptional from the moment I walked through the front door,” she said.
“I was welcomed with warmth, care and respect.”
Lee said she would strongly recommend the experience to others.
“I have already recommended Dress for Success to several people from all walks of life,” she said.
“It truly shows that presenting your best self is just the beginning of a powerful and positive transformation.”
The ‘Get the Job’ workshop is designed to help participants feel prepared, polished and interview-ready, with bookings now available for June, July and August.
