Education in Isolation

Written by Castle | May 4, 2020 1:00:00 AM

Has isolation left you with a lot of free time on your hands? Research shows education improves your employment prospects and can increase your earning capacity, so now is the ideal time to look at re-skilling or up-skilling.

If you don’t have any qualifications, talk to your Castle consultant about enrolling in a course. There are plenty of online courses you can complete from the safety of your home. Skills in aged care, child care and disability services are very much in demand. If you have hospitality skills, consider doing an administration course and up-skill for management positions. We can also advise you on how to access government funded training through your NDIS or DES plan.

Not sure where to start? Check out JobOutlook's Skills Match service and determine which other jobs might be a good match for you. JobOutlook helps you understand which careers use your skills, which industries are hiring and any additional qualifications you will need.

Check out our website to find links to job seeker tools like SEEK Career Advice and well-being resources such as MindSpot which offers free online mental health support and training. Care Careers is also a great website if you are considering changing careers and entering the community services sector. Just complete their online quiz and see what jobs suit your skills and interests. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, TAFE NSW is offering a number of fee-free short courses that can be completed in just days or weeks, offering practical skills and experiences across a range of industries.
