Ben's story shows that sometimes finding the right fit can be difficult, but will pay off in the end.

After years out of the workforce due to injury, Ben was eager to get back to work. However, he faced several challenges, including managing chronic pain, short-term memory issues, and mental health struggles. Not having a driver’s license made job searching even harder, limiting his options and adding to the barriers he needed to overcome.

Despite these obstacles, Ben remained determined. He explored a range of career paths, considering training in welding and electrical engineering, as well as jobs in lawn mowing and kitchen work. When he expressed an interest in small motors and mechanical repairs, Castle’s Account Manager, Robyn Wilson, worked closely with him to find the right fit.

Together, they identified a great opportunity—a role at The Vac Shop in Mayfield West repairing small appliances. Robyn helped Ben through every step, from applying and preparing for the interview to navigating logistics. She also negotiated a wage subsidy for the employer, making it easier for them to invest in his potential.

Amy will continue to support Ben for as long as needed.

Ben quickly secured the job and settled in with confidence, knowing Castle had his back.

“Even on days when I’m not feeling my best, I still show up to work, knowing I have the support of Castle behind me,”

Seeing him secure and enjoy a job after everything he’s been through is something I’m really proud of. He’s worked hard to get to this point, and it’s great to see him thriving.”
